Oxygen is one of the most necessary gases that humans need to survive on this planet. O2 therapy is a treatment that is provided to people who are unable to get enough oxygen naturally. This treatment is given to patients by resting a tube in their nose, putting a face mask or by placing a tube in their windpipe. Giving this treatment increases the amount of oxygen level that the patient’s lungs receive and deliver it to their blood. This therapy is prescribed by doctors when the oxygen level is too low in the blood. Having a low level of oxygen may result in breathlessness, feeling confused or tired and can even damage the body.

Uses of Oxygen Therapy

Oxygen therapy is a treatment that is used to manage acute and chronic health conditions. All hospitals and pre-hospital settings (i.e. an ambulance) use this therapy to handle emergency situations. Some people use this at home as well to treat long-term health conditions. The device and mode of delivery depend on the factors like the medical professionals that are involved in the therapy and the needs of the patient.

Diseases where oxygen therapy is used are:

To treat acute diseases-

When the patients are on the way to the hospital, they are given oxygen therapy in the ambulance. When this treatment is given, it can resuscitate the patient. it is also used in case of hypothermia, trauma, seizure, or anaphylaxis.

When a patient does not have enough oxygen in the blood, it is called Hypoxemia. In this case, oxygen therapy is given to the patient to increase the level of oxygen until the time the saturation level is achieved.

To treat chronic diseases-

Oxygen therapy is given to provide supplemental oxygen to patients who are suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Long-term smoking results in COPD. Patients suffering from this condition need additional oxygen either permanently or occasionally.

Chronic asthma, Heart failure, obstructive sleep apnea, cystic fibrosis are some examples of chronic conditions that need oxygen therapy.

We provide medical oxygen generators that utilize well-known and successful PSA technology.  Our medical oxygen generators are offered to start with small flow rates of as low as 2 nm3/hr and as high as the customer’s demand calls for.
